Description

A perennial plant with ascending stems usually up to 50 cm tall, slightly furrowed, finely cobwebby and almost white-felted below the inflorescence. The leaves are sinuately pinnately divided beyond the middle, densely covered with small spines and white-felted beneath. The flower heads are nearly sessile, 2.5 to 3.5 cm long, clustered in twos and threes in a racemose to corymbose inflorescence; the corolla is pink. It flowers in August and September and grows on grassy slopes, along roads and in pine and juniper woods.
