Description
The bay bolete (Xerocomus badius) forms mycorrhiza mainly with pine, and also with spruce, beech, oak and sweet chestnut. It grows in coniferous and, less often, broad-leaved forest, usually on sandy soils, and sometimes at the base of trunks and on stumps. Season: June to November.
