Description
Rozites caperatus, the gypsy mushroom, forms mycorrhiza mainly with conifers, but also with beech, oak and birch. It grows in mossy places in coniferous and mixed forest, especially among bilberry, more rarely in oak woods, and in the north under dwarf birch. Season: early July to early October.
