Description
The winter polypore (Polyporus brumalis) is a small polypore with a central stem: the cap is round and greyish-brown, the pores white and fine. It grows on dead wood of broad-leaved trees; the fruit bodies appear in late autumn and persist through the winter, which gives the species its name. Translated from the Russian-language Wikipedia.
