Description
A blue-grey form of the oyster mushroom: the cap is bluish to blue-grey, fading to grey with age. It grows on stumps and trunks of broad-leaved trees, is cold-loving and fruits in late autumn. The mushroom is edible. GBIF treats it as a species of its own (Pleurotus columbinus Quél.), while some sources regard it merely as a variety of the oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus var. columbinus). The species has no article of its own in the Russian, German or English Wikipedia — the account is based on the GBIF database and on field guides to the oyster mushrooms.
