Description

The stem is 15 to 50 cm tall at flowering and stretches to one or one and a half metres by the time the seeds ripen. It grows along the banks of rivers and streams and in forests, preferring silty alluvial sands and stony soils. The species is named after the Japanese botanist Misao Tatewaki.
