Paxillus atrotomentosus, the velvet roll-rim, grows from the second half of July until November on stumps, roots, trunks and fallen wood of conifers — pine and spruce — more rarely on broad-leaved trees and on the ground, singly and in groups; it is not common. Translated from a Russian-language source.
