Description
Lactarius volemus, the fishy milkcap, grows from mid-July to late September in broad-leaved and mixed woods with oak and hazel, more rarely in spruce forest, sometimes near rotten wood and stumps, singly and in small groups; it is uncommon and more frequent in warmer regions.
