Description

The fig is the edible fruit of Ficus carica (the common fig), a species of tree or shrub in the flowering plant family Moraceae, native to the Mediterranean region, and to western and southern Asia.

Uses

Плоды употребляют в свежем и переработанном виде. Плоды культурных сортов очень питательны и калорийны. Разваренные плоды и их настой имеют слабительные и мягчительные свойства и применяются как полоскание с молоком при заболеваниях горла.
