Description
Silene flos-cuculi, the ragged-robin, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the family Caryophyllaceae. It forms a rosette of low growing foliage with numerous stems 30 to 90 cm tall, branching near the top. The leaves are paired, the lower ones spoon-shaped and stalked, the upper ones linear-lanceolate. Blooming from May to August, the pink flowers are 3 to 4 cm wide, with five narrow petals deeply divided into four lobes — hence the ragged appearance and the common name.Wikipedia
