Description

Aster bessarabicus is now treated as a subspecies of Aster amellus, the European Michaelmas daisy: Aster amellus subsp. bessarabicus. It is a perennial herbaceous plant reaching a height of 20—50 cm, with dark green leaves and lilac ray florets; the flowering period extends from July through October.
